Namir runs today but he won't win because of the luck I'm having
One of our horses, Namir, runs in the 6.50 at Chepstow today. It's a 6 furlong sprint, but he's best over 5. He is on a losing run. Only a mad man would back him, but I will anyway.
Namir is a new horse in the Ridgway Stable. His 'share' was offered as a sweetner, free of charge, due to the problems with our no.1 horse, Friendship Bay. I would not have bought into him had I had the choice as I'm not a fan of flat turf racing and I've had interests in disappointing sprinters in the past. But, you never know, he might actually win today. Or not.
Update 22/6/10: He finished 9th, beaten by 8 lengths. As the race began in earnest the jockey asked Namir for his effort but despite flattering for a couple of strides his effort petered out rather tamely through the final furlong and he was passed by a number of horses. He will now be rested for a few weeks.
