Hurricanes fascinate me and I usually follow the hurricane season each year. Earl is currently a category 4 hurricane, with 145 MPH winds. Located south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, Earl continues to move north-northwest at 18 MPH. This system will begin to affect parts of the mid-Atlantic later this evening.
Well, as I write it is the last evening of the summer holidays. Vicky and the kids go back to school tomorrow and although my term doesn't start until next week I will be going in for the last three days of this week to start getting things sorted for the new term. As usual the last 5 and a bit weeks have flown by, but we've had a good time as a family. We've started camping and we enjoyed two trips, one to the Peak District and one to Wales. We've used our Merlin passes to great extent, visiting Alton Towers, Warwick Castle and Legoland Manchester. We've been as a family to one wedding and I attend one other. We've been to the races at Wolverhampton for family fun day and we've used our passes to visit Weston Park on more than one occasion. We've been on lots of long walks with the dog and have generally spent lots of good time together before the long slog to Christmas. Below is my selection of my photos summing up my August of 2010.
